The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the world's oldest and largest art museums. This project aims to create a series of posters promoting an annual lecture event on modernist sculpture hosted by the AIC.
CONCEPT STATEMENT
Jean (Hans) Arp, a German-French sculptor, created an eclectic collection of biomorphic marble sculptures. One of his renowned works, "Growth," displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago, features an organic, torso-like appearance. These lecture posters are designed to complement the minimal and contemporary aesthetic of Arp’s sculptures through restrained color palettes.
The background image on the second poster visualizes the process of the sculpture morphing and transforming, inspired by Arp’s insight that seeks to reassert the unity of man and nature in growth.
