ARTBASH is a student-led annual exhibition at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, showcasing works by a group of artists who have completed their first-year Contemporary Practice course.
CONCEPT STATEMENT
The first-year Contemporary Practice course at SAIC brings together young artists from diverse backgrounds and interests. Artbash 2023 aims to interconnect these unique artistic identities. The typeface is designed with overlapping letterforms, symbolizing the connection between the artists and the audience through the medium of art.
The uncalculated cutout shapes on the event posters represent windows into the artistic possibilities and spontaneity of the young artists. The posters are playful, bold, and interactive, reflecting the vibrant spirit of these emerging artists.
